"Never think of those martyred in the cause of Allah as dead. In fact, they are alive with their Lord, well provided for."
Surah Al-Imran, Ayah 169.
Manassas Mosque extends its condolences and glad tidings on the martyrdom of His Eminence Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran (Rahbar-e Mo'azzam), a great scholar, the gold standard of resistance in the region, and a fearless religious and political leader. Our Shaheed achieved martyrdom Saturday morning, during the most blessed month of Ramadhan, at the hands of US-Israel occupation forces attacking Iran. The legendary scholar led Iran from late 1989, following the death of his mentor, Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini, the revolutionary who founded the Islamic Republic of Iran.
Till the very end of his life, he stood firmly as a defender of the oppressed and servant of the people, refusing to take shelter in bunkers while the people of his nation continued their normal lives, facing the attacks of the US and Israel. He instilled in people the courage to face the most evil tyrants of their time, a path that must be continued.
We also extend our condolences to the Imam of our time, Imam Mahdi (atf), to the people of Iran and Palestine, and to the entire Muslim Ummah. May Allah (swt) grant him the highest divine honor.
In these times, we again turn to the wisdom of the Holy Qur'an. In Surah Al-Imran (3:144), Allah (swt) says:
“Muḥammad is no more than a messenger; other messengers have gone before him. If he were to die or to be killed, would you regress into disbelief? Those who do so will not harm Allah whatsoever. And Allah will reward those who are grateful.”
As we honor the legacy of His Eminence, let us remember what our duty and responsibility is towards this cause. The Islamic Republic of Iran pledges to continue its jihad against the enemy. We remain united, steadfast, and determined to continue our fight for justice. Our leadership vows loyalty to the martyr's cause, promising continued resistance and sacrifice until ultimate victory.
May Allah send blessings on his soul, elevate and forgive those who have been martyred in the past day, and give victory to the Muslim Ummah.
Please join us tomorrow night, Sunday, March 1st to remember His Eminence as we navigate what our responsibilities are today. Join us at 6:00 PM as we begin with Salatul Maghrib, a potluck iftar, and end with a discussion and remembrance.
In solidarity,
Manassas Mosque
